Embroidery

Embroidery

To me, embroidery is drawing and painting in thread. It was the subject of my degree and I find there’s something very personal about the process. I enjoy using both hand and machine techniques and I love combining stitching with other materials, to create unique, tactile effects.

Embroidery plays an important role in many of my private commissions, as it gives my clients the freedom to incorporate personal motifs into their schemes. I use it in so many ways – from simple repeat patterns, to full works of art, emulating the light touch of a finely drawn line or complex paint effects.
